Description

Exclusive to full members who are not Trainee Observers, the Run Leader & Back Marker (“RLBM”) training is designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills, knowledge, and training to lead or back mark any TVAM social run. This comprehensive course encompasses both theoretical and practical sessions to ensure a tailored learning experience.

Upon completion, participants will have the expertise to effectively plan and execute a safe and enjoyable group ride, manage group dynamics, and respond to emergency situations.

The current course structure for RLBM training is divided into two parts.

  • Part one is a training day consisting of a classroom session that covers foundational knowledge, followed by a practical session for RLBM. After this, you will be assigned a Mentor who will guide you through the coaching process.
  • The second part involves learning from an experienced run leader during practical sessions where you can apply your knowledge and skills until you have reached the required standard. We emphasise that this requires a commitment from you as you design routes, conduct recces, assess marking options, and practice leading or back marking. Your Mentor will provide adequate feedback and support to help you achieve the required RLBM competency level and earn your orange RLBM badge.

The training day is held at Greenham Park, located in Thatcham (RG19), and typically commences at 09:00 sharp and ends around 16:00.

If fully booked, please select an alternative date or contact the team admin at runleaderbackmarker@tvam.org

Attendees will receive the joining instructions approximately one week before the course.
