IAM RoadSmart Official Provider

As an IAM RoadSmart Group, TVAM is the largest provider of Advanced Motorcycling coaching in the UK. With over 120 qualified coaches and more than 1,000 members we have the people and resources to do things many other providers can't.

The organisation

TVAM is a not-for-profit charity registered with the Charity Commission reg no. 1O69727. All of our Club officials and coaches are volunteers who have benefitted from Club training in the past and passionately believe that what we do saves lives.

Local Teams

As we cover such a large area the Club has 7 local teams who all meet regularly and arrange social events and ride-outs. So, no matter where you live in the Thames Valley, there will be a local team near you.

Green Team

Our club-wide team for Full Members is the Green Team. It organises our monthly meeting in Wokingham; the 'Meet and Greet' team who will welcome you the first time you attend; co-ordinates the social ride programme; plus some of the additional riding courses.

GIRL TORQUE

We have many female members and there is an active group organising ride-outs together, pairing-up for coaching courses and arranging tours and trips away.

Local teams

Reading - RAMS

The RAMs team is for members in Reading. They meet regularly to share ideas and initiatives on how they can improve their riding skills, as well as to interact with one another. There is a fair amount of tall-tale telling – and other groups covet their ‘pint of the night’ moment in their evening meetings.

Basingstoke - BAR

BAR team members come principally from the Basingstoke, Fleet, Hartley Wintney and Alton areas, but some travel from further afield such as Sutton Scotney and even Chandlers Ford. Any member of TVAM is most welcome.

Slough - SAMs

SAMs like to get members in the Slough/Maidenhead/Bracknell areas together to talk bikes, ride bikes, and talk rides. The SAMs team reinforce the principle that we all aim to become better riders, ride more often and ride together more.

Camberley and London - CLAMs

CLAMs have members from Camberley, Sandhurst, Blackwater, Ascot, Kingston, Sutton and even further afield. In fact, they cover from as far east as the Borough of Westminster in London, and as far west as Farnborough.

Wycombe & the north - GNATs

Covers South Oxfordshire, South Buckinghamshire, and parts of Berkshire. GNATs are the team of choice for members scattered from Amersham and High Wycombe in the east, to Abingdon and Didcot in the west, and from Banbury down to the northern edge of Reading.

Wokingham & Bracknell - WOBMOB

Their members come from the Wokingham and Bracknell areas, with some from further afield. They arrange a group run the first Sunday of each month plus other social rides. They occasionally organise lectures and demonstrations at their meetings in Binfield.

Wantage & Newbury - WAGs

The WAGs team membership comes mainly from the west Oxfordshire area, Newbury/Thatcham to Witney and beyond. Any member of TVAM is most welcome to join their rides and attend the monthly meeting.

COME AND MEET US

Join our monthly meeting

Every third Sunday of the month we meet at St. Crispin's School in Wokingham from 8.45am. Around 250 bikes gather in the car park at the rear of the school where we have both coffee and burger bars, specialist shops, coaching, and announcements before social ride-outs and training runs.
